How we're supported
The Kirribilli Neighbourhood Centre (KNC) is a not for profit organisation. The majority of our funds are attained through fund raising initiatives such as the Kirribilli Markets and Heritage Room Hire. KNC would also like to acknowledge the invaluable support we receive from North Sydney Council and Norths.
Today marks International Day of Charity — a day set aside by the UN to recognise the volunteers, donors and everyday acts of generosity that hold communities together. At Kirribilli Neighbourhood Centre, we don’t have to look far to find that spirit.
Every week, our volunteers show up — not for recognition, but because they genuinely care about this place and the people who walk through our doors. So today, we’re taking a moment to say thank you.
A huge thank you to:
Gretel Jones, Joan Brodie, Wendy Dodd and Tony Batchelor — our library team
Jean Martin and Pamela Caldecoat — front office and computer lessons
Fay Ma — mahjong
Duncan Ramsay and David Cohen — our volunteer lawyers
Pauline Soon and Juan Li — English lessons
Therese Delanty — Justice of the Peace
Whether it’s helping someone navigate a computer for the first time, teaching English, offering free legal advice, or simply keeping the front office running with a smile and a cup of tea, our volunteers make Kirribilli Neighbourhood Centre what it is. We couldn’t do it without you. 💛

Our talented Friday knitters have been busy knitting these beautiful blankets for @knitonegiveone. Knit One Give One is an Australian not-for-profit charity that collects and distributes handmade knitted and crocheted items for people in need.
They have done an absolutely fabulous job!

Just announced! The Good Life is back again in October. This is a ten-week community course in ancient Greek philosophy, now in its fifth year at the Kirribilli Neighbourhood Centre.
Weekly two-hour sessions follow one continuous argument about how to live well, tracing it from ancient myth through to the great philosophical schools of Greece, each offering its own answer. Sessions mix discussion with facilitated presentations, and a printed workbook helps you take each week’s ideas home and try them out.
The course opens, fittingly, not with a lesson but with a journey: Homer’s Odysseus, whose real education comes not from reaching home, but from everything that happens on the way there. That’s the spirit of the ten weeks ahead — there’s no single right answer to what makes a good life, just ten weeks spent thinking it through with people who are genuinely curious about the question. No background in philosophy needed — just bring your questions.
Date: October 8 - December 10 (10 weeks)
Day: Thursdays 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
Cost: Gold coin donation
Bookings: Call 9922 4428
How special is this 🩷
Three generations in our Pilates class. The fabulous Jill, her daughter Annabelle, and Annabelle`s daughter Penny (second pic, with our wonderful Pilates instructor Mel).
Three generations, all moving, laughing and looking after themselves together. What a beautiful thing to be part of.
We absolutely love this!

We’re looking for a parent to run a Monthers’ Group here at KNC!
Every Monday from 10am to 12pm, our courtyard is available free of charge for a weekly Mothers’ Group. This is a wonderful opportunity for local parents to connect, relax, and let your preschool children and bubs play in a safe and friendly environment.
Our fully enclosed outdoor play area includes a variety of toys and mats to keep little ones entertained. If the weather turns wet, our adjacent indoor room is also available on Monday mornings at this time.
We are looking for a friendly volunteer (or a group of parents) interested in facilitating this group. If you or someone you know would like to help run the Mothers’ Group, please contact us on 9922 4428 or email info@kirribilli.org.au
Please note that this will only run if we have someone volunteering to facilitate it, so please get in contact with us. We can start as soon as possible.
The courtyard is open for drop-ins Monday to Thursday from 9am to 5pm, and Fridays from 9am to 4pm. Please note, the indoor wet weather option is only available on Monday mornings during this Mothers’ Group, which is why we have arranged it on that day.

At Kirribilli Market, Milson’s Florist has a stall under the tunnel, selling their beautiful, well-priced bouquets. If you are after some flowers, drop into our next market and support a small local business!
